Dongwon Woolim Volunteer Group Successfully Completes Large-Scale Sports Event with 124 Participants
Dongwon Metal Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Dongwon Metal) participated in the ‘Autumn Cheerful Sports Day’ event held at Gyeongsan Yeorae House on Friday, October 17, 2025. Approximately 20 employees from the Dongwon Woolim Volunteer Group joined 124 users (excluding inpatients) for a meaningful time.
This event was part of Dongwon Metal's efforts to promote sustainable management and strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. It was planned to add vitality to the daily lives of the residents by allowing them to experience seasonal ambiance and engage in various physical activities.
Gyeongsan Yeorae House is a residential facility for individuals with severe disabilities. For residents whose external activities are limited, this cheerful sports day provided a precious opportunity to escape their daily routines and experience new joys.
The sports day, which began with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m., was divided into two parts and featured a variety of programs. Part 1 featured events like Parachute Ball Toss, Snack Grab (walking and wheelchair divisions), and Yeorae True/False Quiz. Part 2 continued with team-based group events emphasizing teamwork, such as U-Board Relay Ball Transfer, Tug-of-War, and Mission Relay. Particularly, the ‘Quick Karaoke’ corner, hosted by the participants themselves, brought great laughter and applause to attendees, further heating up the event.
Dongwon Metal employees provided meticulous support throughout the event, from preparation stages to assisting with participant mobility, aiding game operations, and ensuring safety. They cheered and encouraged participants wholeheartedly, sharing the experience together. The event lasted approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including snack time and breaks. The closing ceremony featured an announcement of results and an awards ceremony to commend the participants' efforts.
A Dongwon Metal representative stated, “This autumn cheerful sports day was organized to go beyond a simple athletic event, providing users with limited opportunities for outdoor activities a chance to feel the changing seasons and enjoy time together.” They added, “The Dongwon Woori Volunteer Corps will continue to contribute to improving users' quality of life through ongoing cooperation with local welfare facilities and carry out social contribution activities that practice sincere sharing.”
They further noted, “As this was a large-scale event with 124 participants, employees united to provide meticulous support. Witnessing the bright expressions and joyful faces of the participants served as a reminder of the true meaning of service.”
Meanwhile, Dongwon Metal is fulfilling its responsibility as a company growing alongside the local community by systematically carrying out various social contribution activities through the Dongwon Woolim Volunteer Corps, established in July 2024. These activities include regular volunteer visits to welfare facilities, environmental cleanup activities, and support for cultural and arts programs.
