2026.01.19
Dongwon Metal has been awarded the Presidential Commendation at the 2025 Government Awards for Merit in Labor-Management Culture, organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

2025 Government Awards for Merit in Labor-Management Culture
The ‘Government Awards for Merit in Labor-Management Culture’ recognize individuals and organizations that contribute to national competitiveness through a cooperative labor-management culture, job creation, and the establishment of discrimination-free workplaces. This Presidential Commendation is a significant result of Dongwon Metal’s consistent efforts over the past 50 years to build ‘people-centered management’ and ‘cooperative labor-management relations.’
Dongwon Metal considers labor-management communication a core driver of corporate growth. Moving beyond formal procedures, we operate a substantial Labor-Management Council that discusses an average of over 10 agenda items per quarter. Improvement tasks agreed upon are applied 100% to the field, building trust between management and employees. Additionally, by activating the Grievance Handling Center, the number of processed grievances has increased by an annual average of 16% over the last three years, actively resolving on-site difficulties and solidifying the foundation for a dispute-free workplace.
Achievements in job creation and employment stability were key factors in this award. As of 2023, Dongwon Metal hired 1,441 new employees, a 32.8% increase from the previous year, contributing to the revitalization of the job market. Beyond simply increasing numbers, we fostered a culture that respects diversity by lowering hiring barriers for vulnerable groups, such as people with disabilities and veterans. Thanks to these efforts, the turnover rate decreased from 5.8% in 2021 to 4.0% in 2023, achieving qualitative growth in employment alongside quantitative expansion.
Investment in improving the working environment and ensuring safety has also been continuous. We introduced a Staggered Working Hours System in 2024 to create a flexible work culture and expanded work-life balance support, such as increasing childbirth gifts and encouraging male parental leave. Furthermore, we invested approximately 1.3 billion KRW in safety and health over the past three years and regularized company-wide safety inspections to create a safe and pleasant workplace.
In addition, we are fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities (CSR) by promoting mutual growth with subcontractors through the establishment of a Supplier Code of Conduct and training support, as well as continuing regular donations to Doctors Without Borders and local community contribution activities.
Dongwon Metal regards this Presidential Commendation as meaningful encouragement and plans to continue its efforts to achieve substantial growth through labor-management harmony and to develop together with the local community.
